The Mighty Mushroom

My dad used to put mushrooms on the corner of our pizzas every time we ordered them as a child. He would do this by hiding them under a cheese layer, or else he would give a special order to the pizza shop. I thought a single mushroom could ruin a pizza, but he loved them. Since I have grown older and developed a more refined palette (ok, fine, I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch still), I now understand just how special mushrooms are to the world of culinary.
